Septembre 2012. C’est l’heure de la rentrée. Et pour BENDS est venue celle de prendre un nouveau tournant de sa jeune histoire.
Après 3 années d’existence, de « premiers pas » en Basse-Normandie et Bretagne, ils ont à leur actif un 1er EP, Freak’s parade, ainsi que de nombreux live, dans toutes les formations imaginables. Forts de ces expériences, ils prennent aujourd’hui des chemins plus escarpés, s’éloignant de leurs influences premières pour partir à la recherche d’un son qui leur est propre.
Juillet 2012. Le Festival Chauffer dans la Noirceur commande au trio un grand concert rock. BENDS répond présent et signe une performance inédite à quatre musiciens, accompagnés d’un quatuor à cordes.
C’est un succès, et l’occasion de rencontres décisives pour l’avenir de la formation, dont les contours finissent par se fixer autour d’un noyau dur de quatre musiciens : Franz (guitare, piano, voix), Dylan (basse, voix), Tristan (guitare) et Clément (batterie).
Il devient évident que BENDS est un groupe que l’on veut désormais voir grandir. Une équipe technique, le label Tour2Chauffe pour les accompagner : l’équipe est au complet.
BENDS veut maintenant retrouver le public, et ils arrivent, ces quatre Freaks, avec une musique riche, douce, violente, toujours mélodique.
A la scène comme au studio, pour eux d’abord lieux d’échanges et de rencontres, ils feront cette nouvelle page de leur histoire intense, riche, et vibrante.

September 2012. Time to go back to work…
For the French musicians of BENDS, it is time to negotiate a new… bend
They have been on the track for three years now. After making their first steps as musicians in their native Normandy and Brittany (FRANCE), they released their first EP entitled Freak’s Parade in 2010.
They have played in as many situations as possible, in every ensemble they could try, from acoustic guitar in the quietness of a museum, to a proper rock show … with a string quartet, not to mention showcases in local supermarkets or any sort of springboard for young artists…
Boosted by their experience, they are now ready for a journey which might take them along steeper paths, moving on from their first influences to reach their own particular sound, their own particular colour, their own particular music.
July 2012: The French music festival “Chauffer dans la Noirceur” asked the band to give a great rock gig to celebrate their anniversary. BENDS offered an exclusive show, the four rockers performing with a string quartet.
It was a major success, and it gave them the opportunity to meet people willing to take part in the band’s future. The core of the band is now made of Franz (guitar, piano, vocals), Dylan (bass, vocals), Tristan (guitar) and Clément (drums).
It is now obvious BENDS are meant to grow up. Thanks to their technical crew and the label Tour2Chauffe to back them up, they are all ready.
They are now looking forward to meeting audiences again…The four Freaks are coming with their rich, soft, sometimes violent but always melodious music.
On stage as well as in a studio, which they consider as places of exchanges and new encounters, they are willing to write a new page of their rich, intense and vibrant story.
